This study investigates the relationship between the various characteristics of both an individual and their job as a means to explain their overall satisfaction with that job. We will specifically focus on employed persons in the area of southern Ohio. The proposed model will analyze the employee’s satisfaction as a response to factors corresponding to both the characteristics of the individual, such as family size, and characteristics of their work environment, such as the industry in which they are employed. Using mixed effects logistic regression, we will determine whether or not an employee is satisfied with their job based on a response of zero being completely dissatisfied and one being completely satisfied. The data to be used in this model will be collected via a random survey distributed to individuals within the southern region of Ohio who work in various industries. This explanatory model may prove important to both employers and prospective employees.en_US
