Copyright Basics

Abstract

This introductory session in this series will describe the history and mechanics of copyright law in the United States. Copyright issues are common in library land, but many individuals may be hazy on the details and on the current law. Attendees will discuss what is/not copyrightable (and exceptions!), ownership & duration of copyright, author's rights, and infringement pitfalls.
